The self-titled album by Amy Serrata is an exceptionally consistent and lively debut from this jazz influenced soul singer.  Amy’s music is fun, happy, and full of soul. To compare Amy to  Erykah Badu or Jill Scott, while accurate, is unfair because her own personality and individuality would be lost in such a comparison.

Amy’s sincere voice and extremely thoughtful lyrics, coupled with on point production, creates music that keeps the head nodding and the mind full of thought.

In a time where albums typically have a 30/70 hit to miss ratio, it’s refreshing to hear an album that is as honest and well thought out as Amy Serrata. It’s a definitely a needed addition to any soul music fan’s collection of music.
